Lifts and Large Equipment
American Automotive Equipment ships all of its lifts and large equipment via truck freight (“common carriers”).  Our lifts and pallets are loaded onto a freight truck at our Cleburne, Texas logistics center for delivery to your specified destination.

Upon shipment of your product, you will receive confirmation from us either by email or by telephone.  You will be provided with the name of the trucking company assigned to carry your freight, the website you can use to track the delivery, and a telephone number for contact purposes.

By making contact with the freight company, you can schedule a time to pick up your freight or receive delivery.  It is your responsibility to work out the delivery arrangements with the freight dispatcher when and if you contact the freight company.

If you choose to pick up your merchandise at the closest freight terminal, they will load the product onto your trailer or pickup truck.  When you pick up your freight, you will need to provide some form of personal identification.  If you would like to locate a terminal in your area, or if you would like a shipping quote, please contact us at 1-800-637-2884.

You may also have the equipment delivered to a business, or to a residence.  For business or residential deliveries, the customer is ALWAYS responsible for unloading the freight from the delivery truck, and must provide the necessary offloading equipment).

Please note that the delivering freight truck will either be a mid-size truck (approx 25’) or a full length tractor-trailer (48'-52').   You may specify delivery with a mid-size truck if a tractor-trailer would be unable to navigate your delivery location.

Many of our freight carriers have available power lift-gates on their delivery trucks. However, there may be an extra charge for this service, depending on the carrier.  Lift-gates usually have a 1000-pound capacity.  This is sufficient for palletized items such as our tire changers and wheel balancers.

This is not enough capacity to unload one of our lifts, however…

If you do not have access to a forklift to unload your lift, other forms of material handling equipment can “do the job”.  These include (but are not limited to):

Backhoe
Bobcat
Tractor
Rollback flatbed
Engine Crane (in certain cases!)
Multiple humans (in certain cases!!)

Your freight will be securely packaged and “brand new” when it leaves our facility (you can see pictures of how we package our lifts and other equipment on our web site).  Please check your delivered items closely for damage and/or missing items on delivery, as you are responsible for filing freight claims if needed (we can assist you in this process).

If a shipment is damaged upon arrival, you must mark “damaged” on the freight bill and note the specific damages.  Digital pictures make filing a claim much easier.

If an item is missing or backordered at time of delivery, please note this fact on your bill of lading. AAE will be responsible for the (re)shipment of these items.

NOTE: It is important that you understand that AAE is not the shipping company – we do not own or operate the trucks that ship our equipment.  However, we ARE here to assist you in the rare case where there is a problem.

Smaller Items
For smaller items, AAE uses UPS and FedEx to offer you the best possible shipping rate for orders that do not require a semi-truck delivery.  We have negotiated the best discounts possible thanks to our high shipping volume, and we pass these savings on to you, our customer.

AAE Lowers Your Shipping Costs
AAE makes every effort to get the best freight rates from our freight providers.  If you have any specific questions about shipping procedures, or if you would like to receive an exact shipping quote, please contact us at 1-800-637-2884.
